Brent did a GREAT job summarizing the pros and cons of using a template Will kit.
Another note from me: As I shared with Brent, a Will is a very important document, one that you want drafted correctly. You might think that you are saving money by buying a kit that you believe to be equivalent to personalized legal counsel. But really what you are doing is buying a Band-Aid. For the short term it might bring you some comfort in knowing that a few of your wishes and concerns are addressed. But in the long run, and upon further education, you will probably come to realize that a Will is so much more than a computer-generated mad lib where you fill in the blanks and hopefully have a good story rather than a joke in the end.
I can’t imagine leaving something as profound as my will, up to a ‘WILL IN THE BOX’
Do your children a favor, be sensible.
